put the drive in an enclosure, copy it to another external hd using ur laptop, then install linux!
or another option which would actually be better - buy a new HD (www.newegg.com has very cheap everything computer-related) and change the boot priority to that HD (actually just unplug the first one lol) and install linux on it!
cuz linux is magical
i personally recommend Ubuntu, since its what i use, and i've had no problems so far
you can use Wine, which is a windows compatibility layer - instead of installing a windows virtual machine, you can just run windows programs with Wine! that's how im running WC3 haha
