I'd suggest it. It's amazing what you can do with one (Not that way, you sick freak! ). Honestly though, if you are at all interested, try renting, it'd worth the try, I'd be willing to bet that you get hooked. I play all the time, just for the sake of playing. If you need more convincing, check out some music by Tenor Saxophonist John Coltrane, or Charlie Parker. Both two of the best I've heard. Their music is utterly jaw-dropping, when you think about how they're playing their instruments so flawlessly.
Well, you see, my problem with renting is that I don't have the time to actually practice enough to make renting worth it. I play flute and bagpipes, and I have enough problems balancing practicing those with schoolwork anymore. And I have to keep up with flute because I'm going for my flute performance degree as soon as I get my computer science degree.
