But I have to admit, this Intel cooler that came with my e6600 is completely silent too, 1000rpm, at a constant 30-35°C. The only thing tat is remotely noisy is the 7950gx2's fan, very much under stress, but this was to be expected. But then again, I'm not willing to pay 150 EUROS just for the watercooler for this card.

The price of the block for the GX2's is to be expected, really, what with the complexity of the whole thing. I bet there's going to be the same problem with the 98 series stuff, being dual PCB design.
Keep your eyes peeled for the average gamers.

Air coolers are damn near as good these days anyway, so W/C is losing its lustre.
