Our view

It's important to Napalm Riot to help our users retain their privacy while they take advantage of all the Napalm Riot community has to offer.

We believe the privacy of your personal information is important to you, as it also is to us. We therefore strive to protect the personal information you share with us. In order to protect your privacy, Napalm Riot, Inc. follows a variety of principles in accordance with world-wide practices for user privacy and data protection as outlined in the following areas.

Information we collect

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally this information is requested when you create a user account on the site. This includes username, real name, email address, date of birth, locale.

We collect certain technical related information when you access the website which is used to keep you logged in while using the website, along with cookies to allow you to access the site again without logging in again every time. At times we may put and retrieve cookies from your browser in order to track if you have been presented with a certain advertisement, in order to not present it to you again.

There is a variety of information which is gathered for all traffic on the website which allows us to see statistics and trending in order to better design features and sections of the website for your use.

How we use the information

Napalm Riot has a strict policy to never sell or give away any personally identifying information about our users. We would not want anyone handling our personal information in such a manner, and in the same right we will not do such a thing with yours.

At times we create metric reports seeded from wide sweeping amounts of information which are used for internal trending and statistic requirements, and sometimes also sold to third parties. In such situations the information used and provided does not contain any personally identifiable details and does not focus on any one user, however focuses on many users as a whole. A routine example of such a report would be: How many users are currently playing a specific game. Or: The amount of users from a specific country who are interested in a specific genre of games.

Personal profile information which is provided by a user may be displayed on that user’s userpage profile, if the user chooses to make it visible. In the event that the user does not wish it to be visible, such information will remain hidden.

If you choose to receive email notifications when a friend submits a new piece of content, we will use the email you provided to send such a notification. In the event that you choose not to receive such notifications, than we will not use you’re the email address you provided to send them.

If you choose to receive the Napalm Riot newsletter, or any other related mailings, then we will use the email address you provided to send you such communications. In the event that you choose not to receive the Napalm Riot newsletter or other related mailings, than we will refrain from using the email address you provided to send them.

Napalm Riot will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Napalm Riot or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Napalm Riot and its family of Web sites, and, (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Napalm Riot, its Web sites, or the public.

Your options

If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use most of the Napalm Riot website. But you will not be able to access areas that require registration or post content such as screenshots, blogs, or comments, etc.

If you decide to register, you will be able to select the kinds of information you want to receive from us by subscribing to various services, like our electronic newsletters. If you do not want us to communicate with you about other offers regarding Napalm Riot products, programs, events, or services by e-mail, you may specify that you do not wish to receive marketing messages from Napalm Riot.

All personal information which may be shown as part of your userpage profile can be specified as non-public in which case it will not be displayed.

Access to your information

If you are a registered user, we provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current.

You may review and update your personal information at any time on your My Account page.

You may review and update your contact preferences at any time on you’re My Preferences page.

The only personal information which you are not allowed to change at the above locations are your age and gender. In order to mitigate abuse by certain individuals in the process of defrauding or misleading others, and circumventing certain age restrictions concerning mature content, we require that changes to this type of information be facilitated by contacting the Napalm Riot staff and requesting that a change be made.

Security

Napalm Riot has taken strong measures to protect the security of your personal information and to ensure that your choices for its intended use are honored. We take strong precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your permission, except under conditions explained above. Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States of America or any other country where Napalm Riot, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents are located.

You also have a significant role in protecting your information. No one outside of authorized Napalm Riot staff members can see or edit your personal information without knowing your user name and password, so do not share these with others.

Enforcement

If for some reason you believe Napalm Riot has not adhered to these principles, please notify us immediately by e-mail at help@napalmriot.com, and we will work to determine and correct the problem promptly. Please be certain the words “Privacy Policy” are in the Subject line.
